Other really good rpgs are pier solar and beggar prince, but they'll cost you some as they cannot be emulated. A kind of isometric action role playing game in the vein of zelda, landstalker is an underappreciated title for the mega drive that features an awesome storyline, great production values, and a compelling if unimaginary gameplay system. Set on the silver star lunar, which orbits a barren blue star, the player controls a young boy named alex who ends up having to save the world from the magic emperor while on.

Fans of zelda would like landstalker but it really reminds us of games like secret of mana instead. The silver star, which did so well that it had a direct sequel, lunar: Demons of asteborg is a game very much in the ghouls ‘n ghosts/volgarr the viking mold.
